MPs 2025 Selection Days in Tamarit

A meeting full of motivation and expectations for the future English Summer monitors

The 2025 summer season is already underway at English Summer S.A. and, as we do every year, we begin with the Training and Selection Days for future monitors (MP). This process is fundamental to ensure that we have a team of motivated and committed monitors, capable of guaranteeing that our camps continue to be a unique and memorable experience for all our campers.

On February 28th and March 1st, we met at Finca Tamarit with more than 60 aspiring MPs, of which only 25 will be selected to be part of the intensive training. We could not be more grateful for the large number of applications we have received, which shows the interest and trust placed in us by those who have already experienced the magic of our camps and wish to experience it from another point of view.

The atmosphere of the conference

The meeting began on Friday, February 28, at 19:00h, with a welcome that allowed the future monitors to begin to get to know each other and create bonds. For many of them, it was an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and, for others, a totally new experience full of expectations and emotions.

After the welcome, we immersed ourselves in an evening of conviviality, where we shared over dinner, laughter and conversations about memories of previous camps. In this space, the first nerves dissipated and everyone began to feel part of a big summer family.

Training sessions and activities

The day continued with group dynamics, designed to encourage teamwork, cooperation and creativity, essential skills that our monitors will have to apply throughout the summer. In addition, we conducted ice-breaking activities, which allowed all participants to relax and begin to form a network of mutual support.

On Saturday, after an energetic breakfast, we moved on to the most formative part of the program. The day was dedicated to practical and theoretical training within the Monitoring Project Course, the leisure time monitor training course aimed at English Summer S.A. alumni who want to be part of the magic of our summer camps from the inside. The future monitors carried out activity rotations, experiencing first-hand how they should guide the children in different dynamics and games.

In turn, those selected from previous years received more advanced and specific training, preparing them to take on greater responsibilities this summer as camp monitors. In addition, our coordinators conducted the first monitor interviews, evaluating both the skills of the new applicants and their willingness to face the challenges ahead.

Evaluation and closing of the workshops

Throughout the day, several fundamental aspects of our future monitors were evaluated: their ability to take initiative, their creativity, their ability to resolve conflicts, and their ability to work as a team. Of course, the level of English also played an important role, as we consider it essential for the development of the activities and to be able to interact with participants from different countries.

At 19:00h, after an intense weekend of training, we bid farewell to the aspirants, with the satisfaction of having taken another step forward in the preparation of a new season that promises to be as successful as the previous ones.

What comes next?

For those who have not been selected, there is no need to be discouraged. The selection process is rigorous, but it is also an opportunity to reflect on the experience and continue to improve for future calls. For those who have been selected, we welcome you to the Monitoring Project Course and begin the countdown to summer.

Our team of monitors is facing a season full of challenges, but also of emotions and unforgettable moments. We feel fortunate to have such committed people who, year after year, join our project to continue offering the best summer camps to our students.

Let the 2025 season begin!

We say goodbye to these days with the certainty that the coming summer will be one of the best. And, as always, we will continue to work to ensure the safety, well-being and fun of all children and youth.
The countdown to summer has already begun! Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock....
